The Bible often compares man to a tree. What kind of tree are you? What kind of fruit are you called to bear? What does a tree need to flourish and bear good fruit, even in times of drought? What do you need?
I liken the trunk of the tree to your God given purpose in life, the branches and leaves to the actions you take to fulfill your purpose, and the fruit of the tree to the result of those actions. What kind of fruit do you want to bear?
An essential part of the tree that is seldom seen is the roots. The roots of the tree represent your strengths and values that support your purpose. When you align your actions with your deep felt values and God given purpose, you can produce fruit of the very best kind.
What does a tree need to bear good fruit? Nutritious soil, good water and abundant sunlight. These three elements represent: your needs, your mindset and your spiritual life. Examining these elements and building them up gives the tree life and makes it strong, resulting in a richer, healthier crop of fruit.
